My Love For Grey's Anatomy: Explained
But that ship sailed....
I also loved the way that this show incorporated love and work. I am NOT a fan of love stories and love dramas and pretty much anything love related(just ask my sister). But somehow, this show's ability to make the drama work-centric and love-centric made it highly amusing and addicting. But nonetheless, in some episodes, the scenery is just a little much. Also, as pathetic as this sounds, Grey's gave me something to watch when Law and Order: SVU went on break for a month and I was in search of another show to devote my attention to, because yes, I just needed a show to watch all the freaking time.
definitely....
Grey's Anatomy provides me with constant comic relief, and many of the people close to me are familiar with the frantic running towards them with my laptop open and ready to show them the latest most amusing clip I see...and they tend to get a little annoyed when they get about ten a day. Grey's has also managed to knock me to tears on several occasions. One being when Izzie's(a surgical intern) boyfriend whom she was going to marry died on the table of the OR after undergoing a risky heart transplant with a ton of complications leading up to it. Another being in Season 11, when Derek Shepherd(McDreamy) managed to get hit by a truck, and die.
and I have never cried for a show before.....
Grey's Anatomy gave me new music to obsess over! In the musical episode, Song Beneath the Song, the cast members sang the songs that have always been iconic for the show, like Chasing Cars and How To Save A Life. This has provided me with lots of music to obsessively play in the car to the precise annoyance of my parents who have to listen to it, since of course, I zipped to the iTunes store and bought the playlist from the episode.
and I play music over and over again....
Overall, Grey's Anatomy has taught me a lot(when it comes to medical garble), and given me the best comic relief when I need it the most. The love story intertwined with the sick and injured coming into Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital makes for one of the best shows I have ever watched. In the words of Derek Shepherd, it's a beautiful day to save lives.
