Law and Order SVU Season 17 "Fashionable Crimes" Review

This episode was released on Wednesday, May 4, and was absolutely amazing. John Munch returned, making the whole episode a little more exciting, and also the episode itself was terrific. The plot kept me interested, I didn't ever pick up my phone because I was bored, and I thought the producers and actors did an overall amazing job. A bit of background on this episode, an aspiring model Sally claims she was raped by a famous photographer, Alvin Gilbret. His assistant, Nora, when Sally was upset afterwards, said "that's not what the camera saw." Meanwhile, Benson and Rollins are out with their children, and typically Benson's phone rings and the two head for the hospital. Sally is confused, and also drunk(because Nora fed her alcoholic beverages), and she is also unsure if she wants to press charges. When she does come in to give her statement, she comes in with her overprotective boyfriend Matt, who is clearly abusing her given his hostility towards Carisi and Rollins when they went to try and get her to testify. Munch shows up when they realize that Alvin has been abusive towards women in the past, and had just been able to pay off the accusers to shut them up. Alvin's brother has always been the one to clean up his messes, and in the ridiculous twist at the end, Alvin is shot with his own gun, by someone he knows. Dodds(mini) gets Alvin's brother and his wife into the station, and after coaxing(with stories of his own brother), they both start confessing. Eventually, its revealed that it's Alvin's brother who killed him, and he cuts a plea deal. Munch is home with Noah, waiting for Benson to return, and it seems that Munch spent his time teaching Noah how to defy authority, by teaching Noah to say "why." This episode was amazing, and I love seeing old characters return. John Much definitely carried this episode, because without him, it would have been a typical, "ripped from the headlines" episode, which would have been boring. But this episode was most definitely not boring. Also, I apologize that this episode review came out so late, I've been busy and I just finished the episode last night. It was great to see SVU back from hiatus, and I'll see you guys next week
Tell me in the comments below what you thought of this episode, whether you liked the return of John Munch, and what you thought of the twists in general. It was great to see SVU back from hiatus, and I'll see you guys next week.
