Law and Order SVU "Intersecting Lives" and "Heartfelt Passages" Review

The season finale of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit was absolutely amazing. Released in the span of two weeks, it was gripping and heart wrenching, but also a new start for one of the detectives. I also need to preface this with the fact that Law and Order: SVU's episode three weeks age, Assaulting Reality was amazing, even though I didn't get the chance to write a review. The first part of the season finale's double episode event dealt with a correctional officer who was accused of multiple counts of rape. Gary Munson, a married man and with a spotless record. Charisse McGabe accuses him of rape in the church room of Riker's Island, and when he is arrested, the entire correctional force rallies against the SVU squad, ending with a death threat against ADA Barba. Heartfelt Passages continues the investigation against Gary Munson, but this time, when his wife wants to leave him, he pulls a gun, threatening the lives of Benson and Dodds Jr. A rape case turned domestic violence. Benson removes the children from the situation, leaving Dodds behind with Munson, trying to get him to drop the gun and release Munson's wife and him, One thing leads to another, and Dodds Jr. is shot in the stomach. At the hospital, he survives a touch and go surgery, but dies of a massive stroke. Benson struggles with the guilt of not searching Gary Munson when he entered the house. In the end, Olivia and Tucker(her boyfriend) are walking with Noah, and Tucker proposes a trip to Paris, to get them some away time. Olivia agrees readily, and the episode closes with them swinging Noah into the air. Overall, an absolutely amazing close to the season, but also extremely sad. I loved the plotline itself, but the killing of Dodds was very sad, given he was actually growing on me. He was a great sergeant, and will definitely be missed. It was also nice to see that Olivia was definitely not alone through all of this, she had Ed by her side through everything, and she finally has someone to lean on. I look forward to next season, and I guess I'll be saying goodbye for awhile, except for book reviews that might go up a few times. Season 17 was wonderful. Great job all actors, editors, writers and directors. Congrats to Mariska Hargitay for a very successful Joyful Heart Foundation gala this year. Congrats to all.
Huge shout out to Warren Leight, the show runner, who is leaving. Amazing job, you will be missed in the world of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. Good luck to you in the future. Overall, a wonderful season and I am so excited for next season to come out. I'll see you guys then.
RIP Sergeant Michael Dodds, your bid on this show was absolutely incredible, you will be missed. Best of luck to you, Andy Karl, you did an amazing job as the sergeant. We will miss you.

Sheltered Outcasts was released on March 30, 2016. This episode was decent enough, and it had a good line of suspense. A quick recap of this episode, Detective Carisi is deep undercover in a homeless shelter, where known sexual assailants are housed. The investigation into the shelter is triggered by a serial rapist the detectives need to catch. Detective Carisi was roughed up by some men in the shelter, but survived. The man of suspicion is Richie Caskey, a man who Detective Carisi thinks is a good man. In a shocking turn of events, it turns out the rapist is Caskey's lawyer, and that was figured out after the shelter's therapist was raped and murdered, and another victim IDs his voice while standing in the middle of the squad room with Olivia. This episode was a good episode, I didn't see much of Dodds Jr. so I'm not sure what is going on there. Grey's Anatomy Season 13 "Don't Stop Me Now" Review

So last week's episode of Grey's Anatomy was our first one back since Meredith and Nathan officially became a "thing" after their experience on the plane. I was eager to see how they would play Maggie, given her previous liking of Riggs and how he turned her down. This episode was unfortunately very predictable, which I don't really like when it comes to shows, I enjoy suspense. This episode opens with Meredith in front of a mirror rehearsing what she's going to say to Maggie about her and Nathan, with Alex getting ready to leave around her while being forced to listen to the role play. They finally decide on one in the hospital bathroom, but the plan is foiled when Maggie figures out the newest couple at the press conference that was being held to honor the achievements of what happened on the plane. She's annoyed, hurt and angry as we expected, moving from ignoring, to rudeness, to tears. Maggie finally seems to forgive her at the end, when she agrees ...

Law and Order: SVU S17E11

Townhouse Incident aired on NBC January 13, 2016.  This episode could quite possibly qualify as one of the worst SVU episodes that I've ever seen. A quick background of this episode; Olivia's regular babysitter Lucy, is having a problem with her family, and was complaining to Olivia. Being the good person that she is, she heads for the townhouse, only to be taken hostage along with two children and their mom. This is evidently traumatizing to her, as she wasn't able to stop the sixteen year old girl from being raped by Joe, one of the hostage takers. In the end, the snipers take out Joe as he exits the townhouse with the intent of running off with Benson. It gets one out of five stars from me, and here's why.  The producers of SVU are overplaying the "Olivia Benson in trouble" and my guess is that they are responding to the rave reviews that they received out of the William Lewis season, where Benson is taken hostage twice in season fifteen.
